What's in the box: When it was running, each box held a curated mix of beauty and makeup samples, sometimes with full size products, from a range of brands.
Lust Have It is no longer operating, and its website at lusthaveit.com.au no longer loads. It launched in August 2011 and is widely credited as Australia's first beauty subscription box, arriving just as the monthly sample box idea was catching on overseas. Subscribers received a curated parcel of beauty and makeup products, typically a mix of sample sizes and the occasional full size item. The idea was to let people try brands before buying full products. The appeal was discovery: instead of choosing products yourself, you got a small surprise selection that could cover skincare, makeup, hair care and fragrance. For many Australian shoppers it was their first beauty subscription, and it helped pave the way for the many local boxes that followed. There is no sign of recent activity, though, and there is no working site where you could subscribe, manage an account or contact customer service. If you ever had an account or saved payment details with the service, check your bank or card statements for any unexpected charges. If you want a beauty box in Australia today, look for a service that is still trading.
