What's in the box: Prescription glasses plus one or two extra products, such as sunglasses, contact lenses or another pair of glasses, along with an annual eye exam and a cleaning kit.
MÓ Vision Plan is a subscription from Multiópticas, the Spanish optician network. You pay monthly and wear glasses instead of buying them outright. There are three tiers. Basic starts from €9 a month and includes one pair of prescription glasses plus one product of your choice: a second pair of prescription glasses, contact lenses, sunglasses or a myopia control option. Plus starts from €12 a month and lets you choose two extra products. Family starts from €15 a month and covers two people. Every plan includes an annual eye exam, one prescription change, cover against loss, theft and breakage, and a yearly cleaning kit. The first month is free. The commitment is the main catch. Contracts run for an initial 24 months, and changing products after the first year adds another 12 months. Cancelling early means paying an amount that depends on your plan. A prescription change only applies if your vision shifts by at least 0.50 dioptres, and an insurance claim may cost you one or more monthly payments. On the plus side, old frames are refurbished with the Lions Club and sent to people in developing countries. A referral scheme gives you and a friend one extra free payment each.
