What's in the box: A curated mix of EDC and outdoor gear such as fire starters, blades, multi-tools, key chains and paracord, and the top tier adds a higher end knife.
Monthly EDC is a US subscription box for everyday carry, tactical and survival gear. It ships every month and you can cancel anytime. There are four tiers. Starter costs $35 per month plus shipping and is meant for newcomers, with items such as fire starters, blades, multi-tools, key chains and paracord. Advanced ($65) and Premium ($115) each add more outdoor and survival gear on top of the tier below. Ultimate ($189) adds a higher end Knife of the Month, and the company says it is its most popular box. Shipping is extra on every plan. The site also sells gift subscriptions and has a page of previous boxes, which is a good way to see what kind of gear to expect before you sign up. The main caution is that the homepage value claims are loose and sometimes contradict each other. For example, Starter is listed with an average value of $60 and then, a few lines later, as typically worth $70 or more. Advanced is described as averaging $103 and also as typically $90 or greater. In this category the seller sets these retail values, and you could often pay less for the same items elsewhere, so treat them as marketing. The company picks the contents, so some items may duplicate gear you already own.
