What's in the box: A surprise mix of sweet and savory snacks such as candy, chocolate and crisps, often including new or lesser known products.

MyCouchbox is no longer operating: its website does not load, and there is no sign that it is taking or shipping orders. When it ran, MyCouchbox was a German snack subscription built around a simple idea, a regular surprise box of sweet and savory treats for an evening on the sofa. Each delivery mixed candy, chocolate, crisps and similar snacks. It often included new releases or brands that shoppers might not find at their usual supermarket. Boxes often had a theme, which gave each delivery some personality and made the service a natural choice for gifts. The appeal was discovery rather than control. You did not pick the contents, so some items suited your tastes and others did not. The service was aimed at the German market, so packaging, communication and support were mainly in German. If you still have an active subscription or an unused gift code, check your bank or payment statements for unexpected charges and contact your payment provider if needed, because the company's own site cannot be reached. If you want a snack box today, pick a service that is clearly active, with a working website and clear cancellation terms.
