Ownership. Hungry Marketplace acquired NatureBox in May 2022.
What's in the box: You pick your own mix of packaged snacks such as nuts, snack mixes, cookies, chips, jerky and drinks, or order a ready-made snack box.
NatureBox started as a snack subscription box. Today it works more like an online snack shop with an optional paid membership. Hungry Marketplace has owned it since May 2022, and the site now also promotes Hungry's catering service. The catalog covers cookies and bars, chips and crackers, popcorn and pretzels, nuts and clusters, snack mixes, jerky, beverages, bulk items and ready-made snack boxes. Along with its own snacks, such as nut mixes and cheese bites, it sells other brands like Jackson's, Righteous Felon and Equal Exchange. You can filter products by nutrition tags such as vegan, keto-friendly, paleo-friendly, no sugar added and made without gluten, which helps if you have dietary goals. The site title now highlights adaptogens, functional food and CBD, and wellness items like supplement gummies sit next to the snacks. Membership starts with a 15-day free trial and gives you member pricing and a monthly store credit. If you don't save at least your fee in the first year, NatureBox promises to make up the difference in store credit at renewal. That is reassuring, but store credit is not cash, and non-members pay more for the house snacks. The wellness push and the catering promotion also make the brand feel less focused than it once did.
