Moved. The old site now redirects to netflix.com. Netflix shipped its last DVD-by-mail discs on September 29, 2023.

What's in the box: When it operated, each red envelope held one rented DVD or Blu-ray disc chosen from your online queue, to be mailed back after watching.

Netflix DVD, also known as DVD.com, is no longer operating. Netflix mailed its final discs on September 29, 2023, and the old dvd.com address now forwards to the main Netflix streaming site. For many years this was the original Netflix business, a rental service that sent movies and TV seasons on physical DVD and Blu-ray discs in its familiar red envelopes. Members built a queue online, received discs by mail, and sent them back when finished to get the next title. Plans were based on how many discs you could have out at once, and there were no due dates or late fees. Its biggest strength was its catalog, which included many older, obscure, and foreign films that never showed up on streaming services, making it a favorite of film enthusiasts. When the service ended, Netflix let subscribers keep the discs they had at home. Today there is nothing to subscribe to under this name. Visiting dvd.com takes you to the Netflix streaming signup, which is a different product with a rotating library that does not match the old disc catalog. If you want physical media rentals by mail, you will need to look for another service.
