Paused.O-Cha paused all monthly tea subscriptions indefinitely in June 2025, citing shipping costs, Canada Post strikes and the matcha shortage.

What's in the box: When active, each delivery contained Japanese green tea or matcha shipped from Japan, though the site does not detail the exact selection.

O-Cha's monthly delivery service is not currently operating, because the company paused all monthly tea subscriptions indefinitely in June 2025, citing shipping costs, Canada Post strikes and the matcha shortage. When it ran, the service sent Japanese green tea and matcha on a monthly schedule, shipped directly from Japan, which was its main appeal for US tea drinkers who care about freshness. O-Cha.com is based in Japan and has been selling online since 1998. The company says it visits growing regions to sample teas before adding them, seals its teas in oxygen-free, nitrogen-filled packaging, and sources much of its range from smaller traditional suppliers, including the Tsuen tea house, which has operated for more than 855 years. Its regular online shop remains open, with sencha and other loose leaf teas, tea bags, matcha and powdered green tea, organic options, tea ware and gift items, though some products show as out of stock. Customers earn loyalty points on purchases toward future orders. The site does not state when, or whether, the subscription will return. Anyone who wants O-Cha tea today would need to place individual orders rather than rely on a recurring box.
