What's in the box: Each box holds a curated lineup of sealed sports card packs, mostly from hobby boxes, picked for their chances at rookie and prospect cards, plus a chance at a bonus pack or a golden ticket.

RC Explosion Box is a monthly sports card box built around packs chosen for their chances at rookie and prospect cards. It launched in January 2019 as a baseball-only product and now offers three lines: Original Baseball, High-End Baseball, and Football. You can buy each one as a recurring monthly subscription or as a one-time purchase. Original Baseball is $87.99, and High-End Baseball and Football are $159.99 each. The company says all packs come from sealed hobby boxes or factory-sealed cases from reputable sources unless noted otherwise. Besides the featured packs, each box has a 1-in-6 chance of a bonus pack, and one customer each month gets a golden ticket for a special prize. New boxes go on sale on the 1st of each month in limited quantities and usually ship between the 14th and 17th. Shipping within the US is free. The monthly pack lineups are posted on the site, which is more openness than many mystery card boxes offer. The lineup can appear a week or more after sales open, though, so early buyers may order before they know the contents. Like any pack breaking, the value of a given month comes down to luck. Supply is limited, and Football is currently sold out. The site does not say how many packs come in each box.
