What's in the box: When it operated, each delivery typically contained one or more children's books chosen by booksellers to suit the child's age and reading level.

The Little Bookroom's subscription service is not currently operating, and its website no longer loads, so there is no way to sign up or manage an existing subscription online. The Little Bookroom is a long established children's bookshop in Melbourne, widely described as one of the oldest dedicated children's bookshops in the world. Its subscription offering built on that bookselling background. When it ran, the idea was that experienced booksellers picked children's books matched to a child's age and reading stage and sent them out on a regular basis. The appeal was human curation from people who read and sell children's books every day, rather than picks driven by an algorithm or bestseller lists. The site does not state details such as pricing, delivery schedules or how plans were structured, so we cannot describe those. If you had an active subscription, check your bank or card statements for recurring charges and contact your payment provider if anything unexpected appears. Families looking for a similar experience may want to ask an independent children's bookshop near them whether it offers a curated book plan, or simply visit and ask the staff for age appropriate recommendations. We do not recommend trying to subscribe to The Little Bookroom's service at this time, since it is not operating normally.
