Tie Society has closed and its website no longer loads, so you can't join it or manage a membership. When it was running, Tie Society was a US tie rental subscription that launched in November 2011. Instead of buying neckwear, members borrowed designer ties from an online catalog, wore them for a while, then sent them back and chose new ones. The idea was to let men try a wider range of colors, patterns and brands than most would want to own, without filling up a closet. In 2014 the company took the same idea to Japan. The main draw was variety for people who wear a tie often, such as office workers or anyone who goes to many events. The weak points were just as plain. You didn't keep the ties unless you bought them separately, and swapping meant mailing items back and forth on a regular basis. Because the service has stopped, anyone who wants a steady supply of new neckwear should look at retailers or menswear subscriptions that are still active. Treat any old Tie Society account, link or gift offer as no longer valid.
