What's in the box: A trunk of clothing and accessories chosen by a personal stylist, which you could try on at home before deciding what to keep.
Trunk Club has shut down. Nordstrom announced in May 2022 that it was closing the service and moving its styling work into Nordstrom itself, and the trunkclub.com website no longer loads. When it ran, Trunk Club was a US personal styling service. It was founded in Chicago and later bought by Nordstrom. It started with menswear and later added clothing for women. Members filled out a style profile and were paired with a human stylist, who picked out clothing and accessories and shipped them in a trunk. You tried the items on at home, paid for what you kept, and sent the rest back. The main appeal was having a real person do the shopping for you, using brands from a large department store, and being able to message your stylist about fit and taste. The downsides were that many pieces were priced like department store clothing, and how good a trunk was depended a lot on how well your stylist understood you. The service is closed, so you cannot sign up. If you liked the idea, look at Nordstrom's own styling options or at other styling boxes that are still running.
