Tugabox

Closed. The website no longer works: it shows a hosting or server error instead of a shop. Box of Portuguese treats for emigrants; the newest content found dates from 2018.

What's in the box: Boxes were built around Portuguese snacks, sweets and other treats, though the exact contents are not stated.

Tugabox is not operating. Its website at tugabox.pt shows a server connection error instead of a shop, and there is no sign that it is taking or shipping orders. When it was running, Tugabox sold boxes of Portuguese treats aimed at emigrants, meaning Portuguese people living abroad who miss the snacks and sweets they grew up with. The idea was simple and appealing: send familiar flavors from Portugal to people who cannot easily find them in local shops. The newest content linked to the service dates from 2018, which suggests it stopped trading years ago and is not just having a brief outage. The site does not say what happened, and there is no notice about a closure, a pause or a replacement service. Because the shop cannot be reached, there is no reliable way to check what a box cost, how often it shipped, which countries it reached or how to cancel an old subscription. We would not recommend trying to order, or giving payment details to anyone who claims to be Tugabox. If you want a taste of Portugal, look for an active seller of Portuguese food that has a working website, clear contact details and recent activity.
