What's in the box: A themed selection of geek and gaming merchandise and collectibles tied to a different pop culture theme each month.

Wootbox is no longer operating. The French gaming and geek collectibles box ended its monthly subscription on 30 September, around 2021, and its website no longer loads. Over roughly six years it sent out 72 boxes, mainly to subscribers in France. Each month followed a theme drawn from video games, films, series, comics or wider geek culture, and the box brought together merchandise and collectibles linked to that theme. Fans liked the surprise and the chance to get items they might not have found in local shops. As with most mystery boxes, though, how much you enjoyed it depended on whether that month's theme matched your interests, and some subscribers ended up with pieces they had little use for. Now that the service has closed, you cannot subscribe, renew or reach customer support through the old site. Be wary of any page that claims to sell new Wootbox subscriptions. If you collect and want a specific past box or item, buying secondhand is the only realistic option now. If you want a similar experience today, look at geek or gaming subscription boxes that are still shipping and that clearly state their terms before you commit.
