1-800-Flowers Plant of the Month Club (includes bonsai months)

What's in the box: A different potted plant each month, with some months featuring a small bonsai tree instead of a typical houseplant.

1-800-Flowers is one of the best known flower and gift retailers in the US. Its site is built mainly around bouquets, same day delivery and occasion gifts, with a separate Plants section. The Plant of the Month Club fits that gifting focus. Each month a different plant arrives, and some of those months feature a bonsai. That makes it an easy gift for someone who likes greenery but has never kept a bonsai. Anyone who wants to learn bonsai as a hobby should look elsewhere. The site does not say how many months include a bonsai, which species they are or what size to expect, so you should assume bonsai is only part of the rotation. Gift plans like this usually come in fixed lengths, and the big retailer behind it means familiar checkout and order tracking. You will not get the detailed care advice, species choice or tools that dedicated bonsai subscriptions often include. Check the current plan options and exactly what is included before you buy, because the main pages put flowers and seasonal bouquets first. For a low effort gift from a recognizable name, it is a reasonable choice. For serious bonsai growing, a specialist will serve you better.
