What's in the box: When it operated, each box held the materials and instructions for one DIY craft or home decor project.
Darby Smart is no longer operating. Its DIY subscription box ended in April 2017, and Grove Collaborative acquired the company in April 2019. The darbysmart.com domain is now a parked page with no store, so there is nothing to order. When it ran, Darby Smart was a US craft company built around project kits. Subscribers received a box each month with the materials and step by step instructions needed to finish a crafting or home decor project. It suited people who liked making things but did not want to shop for supplies piece by piece. The appeal was convenience and a steady supply of new ideas, since each kit arrived ready to start. The drawbacks were common to craft boxes. You had little say in the project, and anyone with a well stocked craft room might find some supplies redundant. The service has been closed for years, so treat any old reviews, gift links, or promo codes you come across as outdated. If you want a monthly DIY kit today, choose a craft box that is currently shipping and has a working website with clear terms. Darby Smart appears here for reference only, as a record of a box that once served US crafters.
