What's in the box: A box held a themed mix of officially licensed apparel, accessories and collectibles for the subscriber's chosen team.

Sports Crate by Loot Crate is closed. Its website no longer loads, and you cannot subscribe or receive boxes. When it ran, Sports Crate was a US subscription service from Loot Crate. It sent fans officially licensed gear for a team they picked, with separate lines for major leagues such as the NBA, NFL and MLB. The NBA line, called Courtside Crate, stopped shipping in January 2019, and Loot Crate filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2019. The Sports Crate brand has not returned since. The idea was simple. You chose your team instead of getting a general sports grab bag, and each box held a mix of apparel, accessories and collectibles with that team's colors and logos. If you liked surprises and wanted to build a collection around one team, that was a fun way to do it. The downsides were the usual ones for mystery boxes. You could not choose specific items, sizes and styles did not suit everyone, and the value depended on how much you liked each piece. If you still have an old account or an unresolved order, don't expect help through the original site. For team gear today, buying directly from official league or team stores gives you more control over what you get.
