The Urban Botanist – Succulent & Bonsai Subscription

What's in the box: The site does not describe a subscription box; what it sells are one-off items such as assembled terrariums, DIY terrarium kits and glass containers.

The Urban Botanist is a UK plant gift shop that focuses on terrariums, and its website reflects that. It sells fully assembled closed terrariums named after areas of London, DIY terrarium kits with or without a glass container, separate glass containers, ecospheres, corporate gifts and gift cards. The company says it makes its ready-made terrariums itself. It also says patented technology lets it ship them pre-assembled across the UK, and that no other UK provider does this. You can pick a delivery date and add a custom engraved tag, which helps if you're buying for a birthday or another occasion. If you're looking for a succulent or bonsai subscription, be aware that the site doesn't currently show one. We found no recurring plan and no bonsai range. The site also doesn't say what a regular delivery would include, how often it would arrive, or how to pause or cancel. That makes it hard to recommend as a bonsai box, even though the shop is well organised and has a clear focus. Our advice is to treat The Urban Botanist as a place to buy a one-off terrarium or kit as a gift. If you want regular plant deliveries, contact the company before you order.
