Hero Care Packages

What's in the box: A themed mix of snacks, drinks, comfort items, and useful extras chosen for life on deployment, plus an optional personal card and photo.

Hero Care Packages is a US service that sends care packages to service members deployed overseas, including those using APO and FPO addresses. Most of the catalog is one-off themed boxes called Missions. Each has a focus, such as coffee and morning gear, games and downtime, snacks, heat relief, or items aimed at women in uniform. You can also build a box yourself by choosing each item, and you can add a personal card and a photo. The site describes its contents as premium, approved items, and it says orders are hand-packed and ship within 48 hours. For a box that arrives again and again, you can set up a monthly or bimonthly subscription, and the site says subscription packages ship free. Other options include donating a package to a service member who has asked for support and corporate programs for teams who want to volunteer. One thing to know before you buy: the site lists approved items, but it does not explain in detail how it handles customs or base restrictions at specific locations. If your recipient is at a remote post, check the item rules for that location first. Overall, this is a focused, practical choice for families who want something reliable and well suited to military shipping.
