What's in the box: A typical pack holds snacks such as cookies, crackers, bars, and jerky, with themed options for hygiene, fitness, drinks, and games.
Troopster is a nonprofit started by a U.S. Navy veteran. It ships care packages to service members deployed overseas. It is not a typical recurring subscription. You either build a personalized package for a specific troop, or you donate a ready made pack that Troopster sends to a deployed troop, squadron, or unit. The shop is sorted by theme, with sections for military branches, men, women, food and snacks, fitness and hygiene, coffee and drinks, and fun and games. You can also add single items such as beef jerky and snack sticks. Ready made options include a cookies, crackers and bars assortment at $31.00 and a Mail Call Pack at $44.99. Orders over $49.99 ship free to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, which helps if you have never sent military mail before. Donors can use a buy one, give one option and an Adopt a Soldier program, and there are volunteer opportunities too. The site has package tracking and an order status page. On the downside, the site lists two different phone numbers and uses both .com and .org addresses, which feels a little untidy. It also does not say whether you can set up automatic repeat shipments, so if you want regular deliveries, expect to place each order yourself.
